Due to its high ability to self-repair Eureka Kikuyu is an aggressive grass and the runners will make their way underground and subsequently into garden beds and under paths if not kept under control. Nullarbor Couch (formerly known as Santa Ana Couch) is a very popular variety of turf and can be seen on lawns across Australia. Nullarbor Couch is a fine leaf couch that is drought tolerant and loves the sun. It will not do well in the shade.
Nullarbor Couch is the finest couch we stock and will require more dethatching (short mowing) than other types of grass.
Nullarbor Couch is a warm season grass and will lose some colour in the winter.
Oversow with Rye grass: We oversow some of our warm season varieties of turf with a transitional Ryegrass for sale from April to September, which helps overcome the issue of installing warm season grass in the cooler months.
The Ryegrass is actively green and growing through the winter months and will hold the sod to the surface until the spring.

Rhizomatous Tall Rescue (RTF) has been developed as a beautiful grass with all the features of the EasiCare with the added advantage of producing rhizomes. These rhizomes send shoots up through the lawn whilst establishing independent root systems for new plants, thus enabling self-repair for dry or hard worn patches.
RTF will establish faster than the regular Tall Fescue, so you can enjoy it and water less much sooner.

Walter Buffalo is a creeping grass that moves over the surface making it easy to edge. It’s not as invasive as other varieties of grass such as Kikuyu or Couch. Sir Walter loves both the sun and is shade tolerant, it may lose some colour in the winter, though this will improve with age. Installation is recommended from September through to May. Once Sir Walter is established it requires much less water than other varieties of turf. A good water once a week is generally enough, however in extreme conditions it may need extra. During the winter months Sir Walter rarely needs irrigation.
As with all lawns you must wait until the lawn is fully established before mowing. Sir Walter needs to be top dressed with washed sand at a rate of half a cubic meter to every 100 square meters. Focus mainly on the joins and edges to stop it drying out. For the healthiest lawn fertilise at the start of each season.
